Creamy Balsamic Salad Dressing

Let’s face it, salad dressing can make or break the salad. I bet some of you even eat salad ONLY for the salad dressing. And I suspect that the dressing you’re devouring is probably not doing too much for your health.

I’m here to change that! Making salad dressing is so simple. You basically just need some sort of fat, some sort of acid and then something to bind them together. Throw in a few special seasonings if you want to get fancy, and voila! Delicious salad dressing.

Just recently, I posted this recipe for strawberry salad, which contained a very simple strawberry balsamic dressing recipe. Amazing flavor and super simple to make.

This dressing I’m giving you today is more your all purpose salad dressing. I like this on any mix of greens. It’s good for any protein added on top. Though if I’m having seafood, I will probably add a little coconut aminos or grated ginger.

If you like balsamic vinaigrette, you will love this dressing. There are only 6 ingredients, including salt and pepper, but it adds a burst of flavor all those greens are asking for.

Whip this up in just a couple minutes, then store it in your fridge for up to two weeks. You can put it in a cute little jar and take it with you when you eat out. That way you can enjoy your fancy restaurant salad and avoid all the industrial seed oils they like to use. Yay!

Instructions
  1. Mix all ingredients together using a whisk and store in an air-tight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
  2. Start with the lower amount of vinegar and taste. If you like your dressing a little tangier, add more vinegar. Likewise, if you like a little more sweet, feel free to add a little more honey.
Recipe Notes

*I prefer my homemade basic mayonnaise in this recipe, but you can use Primal Kitchen mayo, which is also made with avocado oil. Try to stay away from conventional mayonnaise made with canola, soybean and other vegetable oils.
