How do I place an order?

Go to the shop page (www.ourpaleofamily.com/shop/), choose the cookies you’d like, put them in your shopping cart and check out. It’s that simple. All cookies are sold by the dozen.

Can I order any day of the week?

Yes, you can order any day, but I bake Mondays and ship on Tuesdays only. I don’t want your cookies to end up sitting in a hot warehouse over the weekend. Shipping Priority Mail on Tuesdays means that you should receive your package by Saturday, at the latest.

What are your shipping charges?

I charge a flat rate shipping of $15 per dozen.

Local (Raleigh, NC) delivery available upon request. Contact me for details. Elizabeth@ourpaleofamily.com

What are my payment options?

You will be prompted to pay with PayPal when you reach the checkout page. Once you click the PayPal icon, you can either pay with your PayPal account or your credit card. Once I have received payment, I will begin preparing your order.

How long do these cookies last?

For best flavor, I recommend consuming within 10 days of receiving your order, if kept at room temperature. Kept refrigerated, cookies will last well for 4-6 weeks. If frozen, they will be good as new for up to 6 months. They may start to taste a little off after that time depending on what else is in your freezer! I like my cookies best a few minutes out of the refrigerator, but I have been known to eat them frozen as well. Cookie emergencies, you know.

My cookies were on my front porch in the hot sun and the chocolate is all melted.

I’m sorry that happened! But trust me, pop them in the fridge or freezer and they will still taste amazing. To tell you the truth, when I make the chocolate chip cookies just for my family, we prefer the chocolate all melted and mixed in. You might like them better this way! We do our best to pack the cookies so they will arrive at your door safe and sound, but once they leave our hands, we lose all control of how they are handled. If you are truly dissatisfied, I would ask you to send them back to us and we will refund your money, minus shipping costs.

What kind of ingredients do you use?

I use only real food ingredients, most of which are organic. My almond flour comes straight from California, my honey is unprocessed and raw, my maple syrup comes from family farms in New England. You can be assured that I am using the best quality ingredients I can get my hands on.

Why are they so expensive?

You get what you pay for, as they say, and good things cost money. Those perfectly round cookies you buy in the grocery store for $3.69/package are worth just that amount. Your good health is worth far more! Quality ingredients are not cheap. All of our ingredients are natural, GMO free and most are certified organic. Almond flour costs around $8.00 per pound and wheat flour is around $.30 per pound. It doesn’t take a math wizard to realize that these cookie prices are actually a super awesome deal! And best of all, you will not feel sick afterward. That is worth just about any price, wouldn’t you say?

Is your kitchen certified gluten free?

The short answer is no. The long answer is that I am baking in an inspected and certified kitchen – my own. My family is completely gluten free so there is never a chance for cross-contamination. Gluten doesn’t enter our house! I would love to be certified gluten free, but honestly, it’s just cost prohibitive right now. My business is small because my family comes first and it has to stay that way.

Do you ever run out of cookies?

Yes, I do, and if I’m out, you will note the “out of stock” sign on the shop page. But don’t despair, I’ll have your favorite cookies in the oven again lickety split.

Can you make custom sugar cookies?

I’m sorry to say that no, I cannot. The sugar cookies are the very most time consuming baked good we produce. The shapes and designs do change with the season however so I hope that will meet your needs. I focus more on the cookie than the decoration because we don’t want to over load that awesome shortbread with lots of sugary sweet icing.
